It is the duty of Israeli leaders to explain to public opinion, clearly and courageously, a certain number of facts that are forgotten with time. The first of these is that there is no Zionism, colonialization, or Jewish State without the eviction of the Arabs and the expropriation of their lands.

Ariel Sharon, Prime Minister of Israel (2001-2006) from Agence France Presse, November 15, 1998

To the zionist left on tumblr who believe Zionism is achievable without dispossession and oppression of us Palestinians.  (via allahyil3analsohyouniyeh)

“We need to have a discussion on race” meanwhile black people are being targeted and massacred by the state, in their place of worship, in their cribs, at pool parties, standing on the sidewalk, for wearing hoodies, for asking for help.

“We need to talk about the Israeli-Palestinian peace process” meanwhile Palestinians are being carpet bombed in Gaza, lynched in 48, burned alive in Jerusalem, run over by settlers while walking home from school, for being a “demographic threat”

Save your conversations, you can’t expect us to act like we are on equal sides when we aren’t even living. How can we talk when we can’t even breathe? The dead can’t speak.

If asking our oppressors nicely to stop killing us would’ve worked we wouldn’t have black people being killed at least every 28 hours. We wouldn’t have continuous operations over Gaza that genocide thousands. When someone is trying to murder you, you don’t have a “conversation” with them in hopes that they’ll stop. Asking us to combat our oppression with conversations is asking us to accept our genocide.

Also for the messages in my inbox and people asking I don’t really have time for tumblr that much anymore
You can subject yourself to my selfies at lovenerdeen on Instagram
or if we’re cool ask me for my facebook
I should’ve left this trash website years ago but I can’t bring myself to delete lol

If you were part of any protests for Gaza this summer or Black Lives Matter the past few months and you’re voting for Hilary Clinton in 2016 you’re doing it wrong

I regret so much things I never took advantage of or knew about when it comes to college
I was talking with my mom about it yesterday and I literally started crying because I feel like I wasted years of my life
And I felt so bad to look weak or feel like that in front of my parents because I know they wish they could do more and know more for my sake
My dad had no education behind high school
My mom dropped out of high school
My grandparents on both sides have no education past elementary
And I’m the oldest of my siblings and first to go to college and I knew nothing and took so long to navigate and find my place because I had no one to look to when it came to these things
At least I can help my siblings now, I honestly only blame my stupidity
No one thinks about these things but it honestly has a strong impact in school when you’re a first generation college student

Not to mention all the harassment/Fear/repression/stress that comes with being a student organizer especially when it comes to Palestine and living in the belly of the beast the most zionist city in the world after “israel”
Not even going to get into all he murder/rape threats but also having “public safety” breathing down our necks and being excluded from so much in these academic institutions that don’t want us here
And then having slacktivists do nothing but critique your organizing when they do nothing themselves
And then having muslims/arabs who disagree with ur “progressive” views on queer & womxns liberation & solidarity with BLM back away from SJP BC theyre klab who think their racist sexist homophobic views should be projected onto palestine
I’m so done

This spring break flew by so fast it honestly felt less than a weekend
I thought these days would give me enough time to catch my breath but I haven’t I can’t
Every year I just take more credits more classes do more student organizing I honestly can’t keep track of anything anymore
I’m in the leadership of two SJPs at two different campuses and have 20 things on top of that omg it’s like I can almost literally feel the pressure of everything we’ve been doing in my spine and I can’t handle it.
I abandoned tumblr even and don’t watch any TV or movies or like do anything for leisure all I do is school and organizing that’s literally it
And I love it I’m not complaining I just wish there were more people who cared enough so it’s a little less pressure off of my back

Being Palestinian is such a deep pang in my heart and soul that I can never adequately express
It’s consistently hard to breathe

I think all american teenagers and young adults of our generation should be made to write “tumblr is not a source” on a chalkboard 500 times.

Got on an empty subway cart with only one other woman in it. This man runs in and of course has nowhere to sit in the whole train except right next to me. Honestly what is wrong with people.

Cop who killed sleeping 7-year-old Aiyana Jones will not face charges
January 29, 2015

The Detroit police officer who fatally shot a sleeping 7-year-old girl will not be retried, officials said Wednesday.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said in a statement that her office was moving to dismiss the case against Officer Joseph Weekley. He was originally charged with involuntary manslaughter and careless discharge of a firearm causing death, a misdemeanor, after Aiyana Stanley-Jones was killed in 2010 during a botched police raid at her home.

Weekley’s first trial in 2013 ended in a mistrial. In a second trial last year, Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Cynthia Gray Hathaway dismissed the manslaughter charge after a motion by the defense. The jury again deadlocked while deliberating whether to convict Weekley of the lesser charge, causing a second mistrial.

“Today we personally informed the family of Aiyana Stanley–Jones that we have made a decision that we would not be going to trial for a third time in the Joseph Weekley case,” Worthy said, calling Hathaway’s decision to dismiss the manslaughter charge “unfortunate.”

Shortly after midnight on May 16, 2010, members of the Detroit Police Department’s Special Response Team initiated a raid on the Stanley-Jones home in search of a murder suspect. Weekley was first through the door and allegedly had difficulty seeing when another officer threw a a flash-bang grenade. Weekley fired his gun, killing Aiyana, who had been asleep on the couch with her grandmother.

Weekley maintained that he only shot because the grandmother, Mertilla Jones, struck his gun. She denied touching his weapon, and at trial the prosecution questioned why Weekley had his finger on the trigger.

As activists around the country have widely protested the police killings of unarmed black individuals, including Eric Garner in New York City and Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, Detroiters have added Aiyana’s name to the list of victims. In October, Roland Lawrence, chairman of the Justice for Aiyana Committee, condemned the judge’s decision to dismiss the manslaughter charge against Weekley.

“Surely, the death of a baby by a well-trained police force must be deemed unacceptable in a civilized society,” Lawrence said in a statement at the time.

The prosecution will move to dismiss the case against Weekley Friday morning.
